Write Your Own Sales Brochure

When preparing to write your sales brochure, assume that the reader already knows about your products or services.  Now, he or she has asked for more information.

The purpose of the sales brochure is to help you sell your products or services.  Nothing else.  It’s an important sales tool that should fit logically into the buying process and move your customer on to the next step.

The successful sales brochure is written from the customer’s point of view.  In other words, what’s in it for him or her?

What Should It Look Like?

Your sales brochure can be devoted to all or selected products or services.  For example, if this will be your first sales brochure, you may want it to cover all of your offerings.  If you’re promoting a new line of goods or a single service, a sales brochure can be limited to that.

The size of the brochure depends on two things:

(1) The extent of the information you want to convey.  Remember to include all of the information that your prospective customer needs in order to decide whether he or she wants to buy.  This information should include descriptions, prices, specifications, ordering information, and guarantees / warranties.

(2) Your reader’s profile.  The average consumer isn’t inclined to read a lot of text, but will respond better to scannable information that is broken into short sections, with useful headings and bullet points.  Others — specialists such as engineers and scientists — expect to see detailed information and will probably pay attention to longer written sections.

Give useful information and include everything that goes into your sales pitch.

Keep Your Prospects in Mind.  Know Your Customers.
In other words, remember to write for your audience.

•    Business-to-business brochures should be on the serious side.

•    Brochures aimed at consumers, small retailers, and media firms should try to create excitement.

Think about your reader and what he or she expects to get out of the brochure.  Some customers respond to hype; others don’t.  Engineers love diagrams.  Scientists favor charts and tables of data.  Accountants like to see financial information in tables.

Organize Your Selling Points.
Readers will glance at the front cover, then the back, and next they’ll thumb through the brochure one or two times.  If it looks interesting, they’ll go to the first page and start scanning the inside pages.

Because many people never get beyond the first page, your reader must understand what you’re selling by glancing at the front cover.  For good measure, repeat your selling message on the back cover.  The cover should stir curiosity or promise a reward for reading the brochure.

Content

Stick to the sale.  Don’t tell the reader about your company – SELL.  Your prospect doesn’t want to read about how great your company is.

He or she wants to know that you can satisfy a need or desire for a certain product or service, at a good price.

•    Put a strong selling message on the front cover.  Promise a compelling benefit or reward for reading the brochure.

“How to cut your phone bill by 20%.”

“0% APR for 6 months”

“$100 gift card”

Without this, there’s no motivation for reading the brochure, and many people will either ignore it or throw it away.

•    Your products or services.  Give the features and benefits of your product or service, but you must emphasize the benefits to the consumer—why the prospect should (must) buy your product or service now.

Don’t confuse features and benefits.  Remember, a feature of the area rugs sold by your company is that they are made of the finest worsted wool.  A benefit is that the rugs will add a touch of distinction to your customer’s home.

List the benefits, starting with the most important.  All the benefits in your brochure must appear to be important.

•    Contact information.  If your street and postal addresses are different, specify both.  Give all the phone numbers used by your company – the main number, toll-free number, cell number, and fax number.  Include your email address.  In some cases, especially if you’re located in a suburban or remote area, it’s a good idea to provide simple driving instructions and even a map.

How to Write It

•    Use plain English.  Avoid complicated, ornate language and jargon.  Too many adverbs and adjectives will lessen the impact of your message.

•    Visualize.  Whenever you can, use photos, diagrams, and other visual aids.  These can be effective in showing, rather than telling, your prospective customers about the benefits of your company’s products or services.

•    Deliver your message.  Everything in your corporate brochure should support your best sales pitch.

•    Will it scan? The typical reader of a business brochure doesn’t start at the beginning and read every word.  Most people will scan it first, picking up on key points along the way.  Then they’ll go back at a later time and read more closely.  They should be able to get your message by scanning it the first time.  Further reading should reinforce their understanding of your message and fill in the details.

•    Check your spelling.  It sounds elementary, but you won’t make a good impression if your sales brochure has typos or misspelled words.  Don’t depend entirely on your computer’s spell-check feature.  Use a dictionary.  Use a proofreader.

•    Check your punctuation.  There are many good resources available that will help.  You can use an English composition textbook or a stylebook, such as the popular AP Stylebook (the Web-based version is fully searchable and costs $25.00 for a one-year subscription).

•    Be consistent.  If you want to use an informal style of writing, that’s fine.  Just be consistent and use the same style throughout the brochure.

•    Use white space.  (White space is the area of a page that’s free of any type or artwork.)  If your pages are crammed with text and images, it can be off-putting for the reader.  Having to read a page that’s filled with text looks like a daunting task; it’s too much like work.  Short paragraphs or sections are more inviting.  Remember – your readers will be scanning through the brochure, at least the first time around.  Too much white space, though, is a waste of paper; use your best judgment.

•    Avoid clutter.  It’s good to use photos, charts, and graphs in a sales brochure if they help to make the sale.  Too much means clutter and that makes the brochure hard to read.  You want people to enjoy reading about the benefits of your products or services.

•    Use standard fonts.  Unless you’re in a field that calls for an unconventional look, you’ll be better off using a standard sans serif font (such as Arial) for the body of your brochure.  It’s usually a good idea to stick to one font throughout the brochure.  If you use a graphic design firm for the final touches, they will advise you on this.

Organizing Your Brochure

•    Cover page.  This is the place for a strong selling message.

•    Inside pages.  These can be devoted to the benefits of buying your products or services.  Put the most compelling benefits first.  After your selling points, include a clear call to action that, for example, prompts the reader to call for a free demonstration or a free consultation.

•    Last page.  This, or the outside back cover, is the place for your contact information, including a map and driving instructions if necessary.

•    Back cover.  You can repeat your strong selling message here.

Conclusion
When you finish, ask yourself whether the brochure answers all the questions you would ask if you were the prospect.  If not, go back and get it right.  Then ask a friend or trusted colleague to evaluate it.

Your final product should be a sales brochure that motivates prospective customers to go further in the buying process.  The next step may be to schedule a demonstration in the customer’s home, to invite the prospect to come to your store for a gift, or to send a trial version to the interested prospect.

Is Your Newsletter Tone Deaf?

My dog Abbie, a six-year-old Lab/Golden mix, has developed a curious habit in middle age: Several times each day she picks up her ballkatz-newsletter (an old, deflated, yellow tetherball) and slowly carries it around the entire perimeter of the house. Clockwise.

We have no idea why she does this. In fact, after many months, the only “benefit” I’ve been able to point to is a well-worn path over the lawn, suggesting to our neighbors that we’re laying out plans for a future moat.

The truth is, after living with Abbie for several years now, I haven’t found much practical use for her at all. Granted, she ranks above teenagers on this scale (at least she looks at me when I talk to her), but between brushing her, feeding her, cleaning up after her and taking her to the vet, it’s a lot of work.

But you know what? I love having her in our house. She’s a constant, cuddly, petable reminder that practical value is only part of what makes life worth living.

Which brings me to E-Newsletters. Specifically, E-Newsletter voice and tone.

In the development and writing of an E-Newsletter, many people – savvy e-mail marketers among them – are quick to put voice and tone in the afterthought bucket: “Our readers are smart, busy people who work at big companies. We need to demonstrate our knowledge; that other stuff doesn’t really matter.”

I’m not the type of person who uses this kind of language, but if I were, I’d say that’s total bullshit.

But I’m not, so let’s just say I disagree.

Here’s the thing. Your readers, whether they’re smart or not, whether they’re busy or not, whether they work for big companies or not, tend to be human beings. And human beings, despite what your economist brother-in-law might tell you, are not rational decision-makers.

We buy cars, clothes, coffee, computers (and many other items which don’t even begin with the letter “c”) based on the way it feels to buy them and own them – not because we’ve performed an objective analysis of how they compare to other available options. We do it because it just feels right.

When it comes to hiring a professional service provider (i.e. you and me), the decision of who to go with is necessarily even more subjective.

Unlike purchasing a pair of sneakers, when considering the future services of an expert in a field they know little about, it’s nearly impossible for a potential client to line up one provider against the other and make an objective decision. Even if you are better in some material way, the people doing the choosing can’t tell.

Back to your newsletter. Providing useful information each time you publish is essential… and a thousand times better than simply promoting yourself. But it’s not enough. You need to reduce the risk that prospective clients feel when making a decision. You need to help them trust you if they’re going to hire you.

That’s where voice and tone comes in. What prevents your newsletter readers from picking up the phone and calling you is not the quality of your information, or the beauty of your design, or the prominence of your logo. It’s the human connection.

And so with that in mind, I offer some suggestions for connecting with humans:

1. Write in the first person. Say “I” not “we.” Say “you” not “all of you.” Speak directly to your readers whenever you can.

2. Use conversational phrases. Things like, “But you know what?” (paragraph four) and “Here’s the thing” (paragraph nine), will help your writing sound more real.

3. Use non-business words. “Curious,” “cuddly,” “love” and certainly “bullshit,” are not common in business writing. And yet curiously, they’re words we all use every day. You don’t want to go out of your way to offend people, but you need to take the gloves off enough that they can see who’s back there behind your tie and shiny web site.

4. Take your mask off. I don’t expect my clients to be as comfortable as I am in sharing the details of their personal lives in the company newsletter… but I do all I can to pull them in this direction. I do it because I’ve discovered, quite by accident, that the more people know about you, the easier it is for them to like and trust you – two necessary steps on the road to hiring you.

Here’s the bottom line. Pet owners (and parents) are painfully aware of the impractical value of having these creatures in the house. But we do it anyway, because it just feels good. Your readers may be serious businesspeople, but they’re people first. And they’ll walk right by if you don’t use voice and tone to engage them at a human level.

What’s a Business Plan for?

Ask random business people what they think a business plan is for and you’ll get a variety of answers.Business Charts & Graphs

“It’s for raising capital,” says the entrepreneur.

“It’s for judging the investment potential of start-ups,” says the angel investor.

“I need it to decide on a company’s creditworthiness,” says the banker.

All wrong.

A Plan Is for Planning

The above are important uses of business plans, but they aren’t what the business plan is for.  The business plan is for business planning. But isn’t that obvious?  Not to everyone.  You’ll be shocked to hear this, but many business owners just use their business plan for getting started and then forget about it.  Imagine that.

If you’re starting a new business, you need to go through the rigor of writing the business plan, all the while thinking about the many important aspects of the enterprise and working through the problems that you encounter.  You need to do this yourself.

Let’s consider a few elements of the business plan.

Your Market

Do you understand your market?  Do you have experience in the market or are you looking at it from the outside?  What about competition?  Will your product or service meet an existing need?  Why is your product or service better than what’s already out there?  What about pricing?  Can you realistically predict sales results? Do you truly have a feeling for your market?

People

Your new company may need only a few people at first, but you’ll still have to consider the costs of employment.  What kind of people will you need?  What are the prevailing levels of pay?  Profit sharing?  What about health insurance?  What laws and regulations need to be followed?  Will everybody work full time?  What about unions?

Finance

How much capital will you need to launch your new business and sustain it for, say, two years, until you can achieve a toehold in your industry?  Will you need bank loans?  You’ll need to draw up a starting balance sheet and forecast operating results going out for two or three years.  The forecast will have to be based on realistic assumptions.  It’ll be worth your while to build a detailed financial model that takes a myriad of items into account: salaries, wages, capital expenditures, taxation, and much more.  The model should take virtually everything into account that bears on the performance of the business.  If you’re not a spreadsheet whiz, hire an expert to build the financial model.  Work closely with your expert on this.  Don’t just turn it over for someone else to do.

Revise, Revise, Revise

Say your business plan is complete.  You’ve launched the business and used the plan to bring in an investor to provide much-needed capital.  Your banker used the plan in getting approval for your line of credit.  Now, what do you do with the business plan?  File it away?  The astute business owner will make the business plan a part of his ongoing planning process.  Quarterly and annual budget reviews should tie into the business plan.  In the process, it should be updated on a continuing basis as the company matures.  If you keep revising the business plan as the company moves forward, the plan becomes more and more of a valuable tool.

Viral Marketing – Business Marketing Chat

Viral Marketing 1: Word of mouth advertising

Viral marketing often referred to as word of mouth advertising, while rarely discussed as part of an advertiser’s media strategy, is actually one of the most effective and impacting advertising communications available to a company.  Viral marketing, as the name suggests, is communication about a product, service, or company that ‘spreads’ by person to person, or word of mouth interaction of people.

An interesting and sometimes uncontrollable phenomenon amongst consumers is that they like to talk.  When consumers have impacting experiences with products they tend to share that experience with family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, clients, or other members of their personal network.  More interesting, people share the more negative experiences they have with products more often than the positive experiences.  Depending on the research study one adheres to, some suggest consumers will tell, on average, 15-20 others following a negative consumption or purchase experience, and only 6-10 people after a positive experience.

While these numbers seem to point out the negative aspect of this viral network of consumer feedback, it also notes the opportunities available to a good company with a good product or service.  Not only do consumers share their company and product experiences with others, this information seems to have more impact on whether the informed will buy or not, compared with traditional media advertising communication.

How can an advertiser make use of viral marketing?  Obviously, giving consumers great experiences, great products, and great service is a first start.  By putting forth good things for people to share with others, natural advantages will be present.  But, there are also some very proactive things companies can and have done with viral marketing.

Many companies encourage viral marketing through affiliate or referral programs.  Referral programs essentially reward one customer of a company for referring, or bringing in another customer for the business.  Referral incentives include money, gifts, product discounts or giveaways, commissions, and more.  Companies simply offer their customers a reward to motivate them to make use of a natural behavior.

Affiliate programs are another unique tool many companies are using to grow their businesses through management of the word of mouth communication process.  Affiliate programs, common on many internet retail sites, reward other businesses or individuals for adding links or distributing information about goods or services.  This increased exposure benefits retailers by giving them a large network of affiliate sites or companies to promote and distribute their products through.  Affiliates are rewarded with commissions, cash bonuses, discounts, link exchanges and other unique tools.

While referral and affiliate programs are generally formal business methods used to enhance viral marketing, some companies use informal, or ‘grass roots’ advertising as another mass communications driver.  Companies will often employ ‘street teams,’ or excitement generators to go out into businesses, neighborhoods and other venues to give out free samples, talk up the value of products, and generate excitement about a new or established brand within a community.

Salespeople realize that the strongest selling tool is often a reference from a credible and reliable third party who helps establish a trust factor with a new prospect.  While most salespeople ask current customers for names and contact information of other potential customers they know, some go a step farther and seek out references that may be acquainted with prospects.  They understand that word of mouth opinion and the voice of customers is perhaps the most powerful advertising tool available to them.

Marketing Gifts – Business Marketing Chat

Do Business Marketing Gifts Really Work?

Whether they are referred to as marketing gifts, promotional products or giveaways, these incentives have become an increasingly popular way to market businesses.  In fact, according to the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), the sale of promotional products has surpassed $13 billion.  So do these business marketing gifts really work?

The bottom line is that the right promotional gift will definitely do its job to attract new business and keep existing customers loyal.  The basic purposes of business giveaways is to promote good will about your company, make sure your company name is recognized and possibly to tie in with a particular promotion.  There are several considerations when you are selecting business marketing gifts to ensure you are investing wisely.  According to Rick Ebel, the Special Advertising Association vice president, “A lot of companies simply give away promotional products and maybe they do so with sonic results, but they'll probably find they are going to get more discernible results if they use it in a planned, structured promotion.”

Why Am I Giving Promotional Products Away?

To find out the right promotional items, determine exactly why you want to give something away.  Do you want to use the giveaway attract new business, convey a particular message, encourage customer loyalty, reward certain customers or to promote another item?

Attracting New Business

Marketing gifts can be a great way to attract new business and get people familiarized with your company name and offerings.  They can be distributed at trade shows, as a reward for participating in demonstrations or lectures, for customers who offer their name, telephone and email address for more information, with a membership, for referring new contacts or in locations related to the service your business provides.  Different gifts can be used for various purposes.  For example, you may want to use a less expensive giveaway when you leave them in a related business and a more pricey marketing gift for people who refer new clients.

Conveying a Message

Does your business offer an innovative product or service like nobody else?  Use a catchy slogan and logo to convey your message on a giveaway and let people know what you've got.  The right short statement and logo can make a major impact on whether people choose your company.

Encouraging Customer Loyalty

Often businesses give premiums to customers who open another account, expand the products or services they buy or to recognize a special holiday or life event, such as an anniversary with the company or the individual's birthday.  In these instances, spending a bit more on a memorable giveaway makes a statement about the quality of your company and the level of appreciate you have for your customers.

Rewarding Certain Customers

If a customer refers other customers or makes a major purchase, you can reward them with an incentive giveaway.  For example, a customer who spends a certain amount of money will qualify for a special gift.  These gifts should be valuable and desirable to encourage customers to take that next big step to do further business with your company.

Promoting Another Product

Marketing gifts are often used to promote a new product or service to raise awareness about its availability and generate additional interest.  For example, you can offer a special gift or added products or services when a new product or service is purchased.  These giveaways should be enticing enough to make people want to explore your new product or service.

The Effectiveness of Business Marketing Gifts

Business gifts really work and the facts speak for themselves.  Research performed by the Georgia Southern University, published in Promotional Products Association International, showed that using promotional gifts with mailings sent before trade shows is proven to entice more attendees to visit your booth during the event.

A survey conducted by American Express through their Open Small Business Network showed that there was an increase of business owners who plan to give gifts for the holidays from 61 percent to 71 percent.  Popular gift items for the holidays were also affordable and included cards, calendars, gift certificates, items with the company brand and log, fruit or food gifts and wine or liquor.

Consider a recent case study of an optometrist.  The doc mailed postcards to clients who did not see him in over two years offering free eye exams with a variety of different eye tests.  The results were the optometrist made an additional $10,000 in just two days and the phone wouldn't stop ringing.

We can even use the Hare Krishnas of the sixties and seventies as an example.  They followed the law of reciprocity, meaning people want to give back when they get something, by offering tiny wooden umbrellas for a donation.  This promotion was particularly effective because many times the people threw the umbrellas away and the Hare Krishnas fished them from the trash and solicited more donations with the same umbrellas.

Types of Promotional Products

The many types of promotional products available are as diverse as the various different businesses in the world.  You can give away free services, ebooks, educational literature, pens, golf balls, hats, t-shirts – the possibilities are endless.  The giveaway should match your unique type of business, be within your budget and include a recognizable logo and contact information such as a telephone number or email address.

Everyone loves to get something for nothing so carefully selected business marketing gifts are a terrific way to spread the word about your business.

Viral marketing 2: Online Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is also a term used to describe the online version of word of mouth advertising. The objective of online viral marketing is to create something useful or creative which people will want to pass along, which can enhance the exposure and image of your brand.

Online viral marketing can include flash games, online videos, interactive web site’s, and much more… anything that is funny or useful, and that will encourage the original person who found it, to pass it on “like a virus” to a friend, family member, or co worker falls into the area of online viral marketing.

Online viral marketing has been increasing for a few years now, and is a very affordable form of marketing when it works. The key is to be creative and have something that people will want to pass along to somebody else.

Malaysia Budget 2008 Promoting Conducive Investment Climate

Foreign direct investments (FDI) flows into Asia have rapidly increased over the last two decades, with its share of world FDI inflows rising from 5.3% to 21.4%.

This trend is expected to continue and it is important for Malaysia to capture a fair share of these investments, particularly in view of competition from countries such as China, India and Singapore. Thailand and lately Vietnam are also increasingly popular investment destinations.

Budget 2008 contains several interesting proposals which continue to promote a conducive investment environment:

cut in the headline corporate tax rate to 25% from 2009;
introduction of the single-tier corporate tax system and exemption of dividend income; and
the upcoming launch of the East Coast Economic Region, the Sabah Corridor and Sarawak Corridor.
Corporate tax cut

The corporate sector was pleasantly surprised with a further reduction in corporate tax rate to 25% in the year of assessment (YA) 2009, on the back of tax cuts announced at the last Budget (which brought corporate tax rates down from 28% to 27% for YA2007 and 26% for YA2008).

The tax rate cut is in line with international trends, especially in developing countries, as can be seen across several major Asian capital importing countries (see table). It appears that Malaysia, China, Thailand, Vietnam and selected companies in Indonesia may have the same tax rate of 25% in the near future.

Malaysia Budget 2008It is also interesting to observe that announcements for the reduction in corporate tax rate are being made up to two years ahead of time. This is expected to facilitate investment planning, giving ample time for investors to evaluate Malaysia’s competitiveness as an investment destination.

This is particularly important for those ventures which do not qualify for tax incentives or those ventures which are expected to enjoy a limited tax incentive period, since tax is a major cost of investment.

Single-tier income tax system

Another major tax proposal in Budget 2008 is the introduction of the single-tier income tax system, moving away from the imputation system presently in place.

The single-tier system will remove the dividend franking requirement for Malaysian companies, i.e. Malaysian companies are no longer required to deduct tax on dividends paid to shareholders. The corporate tax paid on a company’s profits will be a final tax and dividends distributed to shareholders will be exempted from tax.

One advantage of the single-tier system is that it facilitates the repatriation of non-taxable profits to the investor. Malaysian companies will hence be able to distribute dividends from capital gains (which are not taxable), whereas under the present system, the distribution of these gains would be impeded. Similarly, this new system will also benefit companies which have been profitable but which need not pay taxes, for example, due to the availability of capital allowances.

The single-tier system will also alleviate certain administrative procedures presently needed by companies to track dividend franking credits (or more technically, section 108 credits). The same can be said from the Inland Revenue’s perspective, as there will be less need for tax audits in this area, and to administer refunds that can arise under the present system.

It would be incomplete not to mention that the single-tier system may have unexpected effects on certain classes of Malaysian investors.

Under the new single-tier system, higher-income Malaysian individuals (i.e. those with marginal tax rates of more than 25%) would benefit – dividends received by an individual under the single-tier system would be tax exempted, whereas under the imputation system, these individuals (assuming they are taxed at the top marginal tax rate) would effectively have to pay a 3% “top-up” tax.

This result is expected to be temporary, amid wide speculation that the personal income tax rate will soon be reduced to be in line with the corporate tax rate. For the lower income Malaysian individuals and perhaps tax exempt bodies, the single-tier system would effectively eliminate tax refunds in respect of dividends, in cases where the recipient’s marginal tax rate is lower than 25%.

Economic development regions

Apart from the tax measures highlighted above, the Prime Minister also announced the upcoming launches of the East Coast Economic Region, the Sabah Corridor and the Sarawak Corridor.

This rounds up the economic corridor development initiatives in the 9th Malaysia Plan, following closely behind the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) and the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER).

The concept of a regional development area is attractive because it draws players within the same industry which have some affinity to locate together. A successful example is the Silicon Valley, being the region of choice for American-based IT companies, and similarly, Bangalore for India-based IT companies.

The development blueprint for these regions recognises the competitive advantage of each area, and the Government has concentrated its efforts in developing infrastructure that will draw a critical mass of players in targeted industries to locate in that particular region.

To complement this, it is expected that new incentive packages will be introduced to further entice investors, together with enhancements in the public delivery system to ensure a smooth and facilitative framework for investors.

These Budget proposals are expected to have a positive effect on investment activity in Malaysia. Malaysia is presently ranked 6th in Asia and 26th globally by the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Index for 2006-2007, and overall, these measures should improve Malaysia’s competitiveness and attractiveness as an investment destination.

Pixel Advertising – Business Marketing Chat

Ever since England’s Alex Tew developed “The Million Dollar Homepage,” the pixel advertising phenomenon has fascinated internet advertisers and aspiring techies.  Tew had a very innovative idea to help pay his way through college.  He decided to sell space on his homepage for $1.00 per pixel.  His ultimate goal was to sell one million pixels and make $1 million.  Not only was Tew successful at making $1 million, but he inspired a whole new form of internet advertising.

What is a pixel?  A pixel is essentially a measuring tool used to determine resolution or space used in a computer page.  One pixel is very small, which is why Tew required a minimum purchase of a 10X10 block, or $100.00 worth of space.  In order to have an ad that has visible presence, Tew said anything smaller would be impractical.

Inspired by Tew’s success with milliondollarhomepage.com, other entrepreneurs have tried to take advantage of the new advertising medium.  For instance, pixeladvertising.org currently is populated by some of the most well know names on the internet, including such companies as godaddy.com and buy.com.

While pixel advertising certainly was innovative, many wonder whether it was and is a viable means of advertising.  The limited space gained from pixel purchases allows for little else than branding for a company.  The pixel page is inherently full of advertising clutter.  Is it possible for one brand to stand out amongst the rest?  Tew believes that his idea was not only creative, but for companies that used his initial site, a great opportunity to be associated with his phenomenon.

As more pixel sites pop up and brands it is possible that branding may be diluted with hundreds of other brands sharing space.  However, brands can stand out in a web page in the same way they might in print media.  They can go bigger and stand out with color and unique design in their ads.

The benefits of being branded on the original million dollar home page are definitely significant.  Pixeladvertising.org is currently selling pixels for $.25, which is one-fourth of the pixel value drawn by Tew’s site.  This is logical as the more availability of such advertising space, the less relative demand to drive the price.  Similarly, while Tew’s page remains full, pixeladvertising.org and other competitors have pages that are only partially full.  They have not been able to fill the available space.

One of the advertising benefits to pixel advertisers is that curiosity seekers who look over the pixel ad pages can link directly to the advertiser sites with a simple click.  With the significant traffic to Tew’s page and to some others, only a small percentage of filtered consumers are needed to make the advertising investment pay off.  Compared with the relatively high prices required for television advertising and some of the traditional media, pixel advertising is a very low risk investment.  Even if there is little to no return for advertisers, the cost is certainly effective.

THE creator OF CGI TECHNOLOGY “BEAUTY and also the BEAST”

Early within the Nineties, the animators of filmmaker photos determined to use CGI technology to create animation flick. Firstly, they used the subsequent techniques within the flick “The Rescuers Down Under” successfully; they thought that it’ll be higher to use this type of recent techniques within the film to point out new production for the render corporations. That’s why “Beauty and also the Beast” referred to as because the second film of CGI technology. CGI technology

With relation to the first production of the “Beauty and also the Beast”, it took 2 years rather than four years to finish with the rationale of the later production was that the assembly time spent developing the Purdum version of the film. the foremost of the assembly was in the main worn out the Feature Animation Studio that housed within the Air means facility in Glendale, California. Disney- MGM Studio’s smaller motor-assisted the California team to create many scenes of the film; notably they helped them on “Be Our Guest” range. The animators of the film used CAPS at the side of a digital scanning, ink, paint and compositing system package and hardware that were developed by Pixar for film producer.

For wider vary of colours, soft shading and coloured line effects of the characters, the package allowed to try and do this. CAPS conjointly employed in the assembly crew to simulate multiplane effects, characters placement and conjointly backgrounds on separate layers and moving them off from the camera on the coordinate axis for making the illusion of depth and sterilization the main focus of every layer. The package of CAPS was allowed for easier combination of hand-drawn art with CGI technology that was before planned in animation paper, then xerxed and eventually painted historically.

However this system was place vital amendment throughout the waltz sequence of this film wherever miss and Beast dance was done through CG room because the camera dollies around them. The director and also the filmmakers determined against the employment of laptop rather than ancient animation earlier however later they accepted the employment of the CGI technology because it was improved considerably. so as to create the gap scene of this film, the animators conjointly used some CGI parts and techniques

In 1990s, the filmmaker Production showed some differing types of animation techniques that was accepted with vital response from the film lovers. They tested that they forever created completely different invention within the animation flick to create the assembly easier to others. That’s why they achieved an enormous hand from the leading render corporations. In effect, a wonderful flick not solely includes a decent story, smart characters, smart music etc.

However conjointly includes the superb production, particularly for the 3D, sci-fi, CG movies and animation. However, the superb production of those movies mentioned on top of will’t be excluding facilitate|the assistance} of render farm as render farm or on-line render farm can help their artists notice their creations and what they require the films to be. As we tend to all grasp, every production company encompasses a large render farm behind equipped with high-end hardware specs. thus is Fox Renderfarm, which may profit the assembly corporations everywhere the planet with the rendering services it offers. it’s not a production company however one in all the leading on-line rendering services provides. it’s our assuming to make a contribution to the development of CG technology

Bad Credit Business Loans

People with credit reports in good standing are typically able to obtain small business loans or a business line of credit, and to do so with low accompanying interest rates. Banks, credit unions and other lending institutions generally look at individuals with high credit scores as being responsible citizens who are likely to repay debt and to be responsible with the money of others as well. Credit reporting agencies such as Experian consider scores over 700 to be those in good standing.

Before you apply for a small business loan or business line of credit, it is important to know what your credit score is. If you are unsure about your credit score number, you can obtain it from Experian, Equifax, or Transunion. You can request a free credit report from the three credit reporting agencies every 12 months. A score of less than 620 is usually considered to be a bad, or sub prime, credit score. If your score is at 620 or below, you may want to check your credit report for instances of identity theft and for errors. If problems or errors exist, report them and work to have them resolved.

If there are no errors found, then it is a good idea to diligently pursue improving your score, before you apply for business financing. The first step to take on the road to repairing your credit is getting current and staying current with your existing debts and financial obligations. Scores do change as new information is added to your file.

If you need a loan fast and don’t have time to improve your score, you may still have options. Lenders may consider your existing employment and income and still be willing to extend a loan to you. Be prepared, however, to potentially pay high interest rates if your credit score is less than optimal. Keep in mind that high interest rates mean higher payments, so shop around for the best rates and deals.

You may also want to consider asking someone to be a co-signer on your loan. Be sure to ask someone who has a high credit score, to increase your likelihood of obtaining the loan. Again, a good score is generally thought of as 700-720 or above, but the higher the score, the better your chances of procuring a small business loan or business line of credit.

If a bank and/or co signer are unwilling to take a financial risk on you, you may want to consider financing your business with small business credit cards. Many banks offer business credit cards to sole proprietors, new LLC’s and corporations with high enough limits that they can be used to finance a new start up. If your credit score is not perfect you may still be able to qualify for a business credit card, you may just have to pay a higher rate. But remember, you can always pay off the balance in full each month and avoid finance charges.

If you can’t qualify for a small business credit card, look into obtaining a prepaid credit card. These types of card are generally only available for small balances, so if need an amount up to $1,000 they may suit your needs. While that does not sound like much it can be plenty to start a business online, as expenses such as web hosting and web design can be outsourced to other countries for very low fees.

The bottom line is that there are many business start-up loan options available to you, even if your credit score has substantial room for improvement. So don’t give up on your dreams of entrepreneurship just because of a less than perfect credit report.

An Alternate Way To Financially “Kick Start” A New Business

Have a great business idea but cringe of the thought of sidling up to a bank manager and asking for start up capital? There’s another funding option available thanks to the web, and it has nothing to do with a business loan or business line of credit.

Kickstarter.com is a website that is designed to help fund the development of new and creative projects. These projects are funded through an online pledging system on Kickstarter.com which actively funds many projects such as film, writing, food related projects, and more. Anyone who wants to try to post a project that they feel the public will buy into and sponsor, is able to do so. The website is easy to follow and gives plenty of guidelines and directions on how to get your project funded.

To try to get a project funded, one must first apply online at Kickstarter.com to have their specific project put on the website. Kickstarter acts as the facilitator and gathering place to be a monetary resource reaching out to the public for donations to fund these projects.

Once you get to the website, you should first read all the rules and guidelines that Kickstarter has posted to see if you meet the requirements to have your project accepted. The person who posts and owns the project decides how much funding they need to raise to bring the project to completion, and they choose a deadline for the monies to be raised. If the monies are not there by the target date chosen, there is no money exchanged or collected. The donors who choose to pledge money to the project have Amazon collect the payments and to begin a project, one must hold an open and active United States banking account.

Kickstarter and Amazon both get a small percentage of the money raised, but neither claim any portion of ownership with the project or what may be produced from the project. Once a project is initiated on the website, it will be able to be seen by the public and an archive is started for it. Once the project has reached the completion stage, the information on the site cannot be removed.

Of course, there is no assurance that a project creator will receive the money needed to support or start a project, this is strictly a public choice. There are also warnings posted that advise people who want to sponsor that they are on their own and warn people that lead projects that they will be held liable if they don’t deliver what they promise.

All in all, Kickstarter.com is a great choice for creative types who prefer not to use banks and traditional lending institutions to fund their projects.

Banks Back Into Small Business Lending

In 2010, President Obama signed into law the Small Business Jobs Act, which approved $9.1 billion in small business loans. Small businesses allow for more jobs to be created in an unsteady and wavering job market. Thanks to these loans, small business created roughly 180,000 new jobs per month in 2011, compared to 68,000 in 2010. So, which banks give out the most money to small business owners?

Wells Fargo is at the top of the list, with $15 billion in small business loans being given out in 2010. During the first quarter of 2011, the bank had already lent $3.7 billion more than in the first quarter of 2010. Wells Fargo currently has a second look process for all loans and trains their employees across the US to advocate for the small business owner.

Next is JP Morgan Chase, who committed to $12 billion in small business loans in 2011, up $2 billion from 2010. In the first quarter of this year, the company has already approved 100,000 loans. In order to help process the increased number of loan requests and ensure that each request gets a fair review, the company hired 250 additional small business bankers this year. They, like Wells Fargo, also have a second look policy, so each request that gets turned down will have a second person at the bank to look at it.

The third big name in small business lending is Citibank. In 2010, they pledged $6 billion toward small business loans, up from their 2009 figure of $4.5 billion. Their 2011 numbers are not available, but first quarter lending has increased from last year. The bank has also streamlined their application process, re-evaluated it’s approval criteria, and instituted a second look policy. Small business entrepreneurs are also given counseling from the company’s small business solution center to help them improve their business plans.

The dollar amounts from each bank are the amounts approved by the Small Business Administration (SBA), who plays an active role in lending money to small businesses. The SBA provides guidelines for loans, and the loans are then made by partners of the SBA, such as banks. The SBA guarantees that all loans will be repaid, which takes away some of the risks to lending partners.

For anyone thinking of starting a small business, now is the time to seek out a loan, especially from one of these banks invested in helping out the small business owner. Many bank allow you to apply right on line, directly at their websites. If you’re looking to start a small business or fund an existing company, things are finally looking up.

Do Banks Loan Money To Start A Franchise Business Such As Subway Or Dunkin Donuts?

Even with the economy not doing so well, certain franchises are still extremely successful. Places such as Dunkin Donuts and Subway still generate enough business to bring profits to the franchise owner. The reason these franchises are so successful are many.

For starters, the product pricing is competitive, the franchise owners benefit from corporate advertising and promotions, and let’s face it – everyone loves quick coffee and sandwiches. For those reasons and many more, many people believe that buying a franchise will provide them with steadily growing incomes. The next logical step is wondering how to get the funding to purchase one of these establishments.

There are many ways that an individual can raise business capital to purchase a franchise. One way of obtaining business funding is from friends and family members. Supporters who believe in the person’s potential will be more than willing to make the investment.

Another way one can gain funding to purchase a franchise is through government assistance. Several grants are available for serious individuals who want to start their own franchise. Single mothers and minorities have more opportunities available.

Another way to raise money to start a franchise is to sell assets. Selling things like automobiles, jewelry, and electronics will help the person to gather the funds needed to get started in the business world. One can make quite a bit of money by auctioning off expensive items.

Banks also loan money for starting a franchise business. The trick to getting a bank to finance a franchise is to show them the money you’ll make with your venture. This involves coming up with an accurate business plan. The business plan will have to show potential growth for the franchise. It will also need to show how the customer will be able to use income from the franchise to pay the loan back. The business plan must cover all aspects of the franchise’s moneymaking ability.

Banks are also very nervous about lending money to a person who has an adverse credit history. The individual should have a good credit history at the very least. A good credit history shows the bank that their investment in the franchise will not go unpaid. Excellent credit history shows them that they can trust the individual with their money.

With the right plan and credentials, it can be very easy for a person to convince a bank to finance a business venture. While different franchise opportunities all have different requirements for net worth and available capital, it is possible for creative entrepreneurs to raise the capital needed. All it takes is careful planning, organization, and total honesty on the part of the applicant.

Top Six Things to Look for in a Great Ecommerce Web Host

With all the new web hosts on the market these days, it is easy for someone to have a lost and confused look on their face when trying to pick one out of the crowd to use. This believe it or not, is a very common scenario. Many people just starting out, in the web-hosting realm have to weed through hundreds upon thousands of servers. Just which web-hosting server to go with has much to with the features that you get, along with the ever-important customer service? We all know that free web hosting really offers nothing in the way of features, and customer support.

We also know that budget web hosting can pretty much carry the same deal, just a little more forgiving, as you do have to pay for some things. For these very reasons, people with success on their minds will easily shy away from the free or budget web hosting all together. This is for very good reason; people do not want to have hassle or problems tacked onto the programming that they are looking for. For anyone to be successful in Internet business, they need the right tools from the very start. This will give them the edge that they need to win in their selected field. This article will look at some of the things that are very important to look for, when trying to find just the right web host.

One of the most important things to look for when scouting web hosts is if they offer a control panel for the hosting and your site. This could also be considered a web host manager. This control panel allows for easy tracking and managing the customers and the business that they do with you. This also allows for you to see exactly what is going on in your own web hosting account. This includes data transfer rate, and disk storage capacity. Keep the control panel in mind, as this will be a very useful tool down the stretch. This should not be an extra cost to you when going with an Ecommerce web host. Another very important issue is the Dedicated IP address and private name server; this is a good idea when you do not want people to know just exactly whom it is that is running your show. In other words who your web host is, and what exactly it is that they do for you. This is none of his or her business, and it could easily become a problem if someone finds out. If for whatever reason they have malicious intent then you will become a target, and in turn this could shut down your show relatively quickly.

You do not want to share the IP address with the main company that is hosting your site either. This can lead back to the host and this is what you want to avoid. Next inline will be customer support that is of high quality. It is known by the world that if there is not a quality customer support system in place for a company, it will fail rather quickly as people will avoid this company once it is known. Make sure there is someone 24 hours a day 7 days a week and 365 days a year, this is exactly what you need in the event that something goes wrong. Perhaps you just want to ask a few questions, it should not be a chore to find those answers. The user terms and the policies are always a major source of debate, you will need to read the fine print several times just to be sure that you are getting what you need, and want rather than what the host thinks you need or want. Always read the fine print, this way you will not be stuck in a contract that you cannot break.

The hosting company should easily have a very established data resource; this will keep the computers that are acting in conjunction with one another stay in the know. It is not rocket science to consider the fact that a professional company is prepared and has appropriate tools for their clients, and poor companies do not. Do you homework, and do not get locked into anything that may hang you, or your dreams of Internet business success.

Prior to this new option, it was only possible for someone to run a single domain on a single account. This many times was not a very convenient or effective method of getting your sites organized or even up and running. Look at it this way, many of the hosts that offer you band width and disk space give you a very large volume of it. Much of this space or the bandwidth is not even used by you. Now if you are running one site, and have all this free space available to use, how do you benefit from it? If however you have multiple sites that can use up that extra bandwidth and disk space this could be very beneficial to you and your sites that you are running.

There are many things to consider when looking for a hosting server that offers multiple server accounts, for example you will want to find out just how much disk space that they offer. This is great if you have a very large site, or you are transferring large amounts of files to your visitors such as music files, video clips, or audio clips. The more you have the higher disk space that you will require. The same can be said about the data transfer rate for your site. If you are sending a lot of information to your visitors, you will want to be sure that you have a large amount of stuff to be passed over to the person that is on your site. Music videos and the likes will need a steady stream of data transfer, in order to not loose portions of the files that are being sent. By giving an estimate on just how much traffic you anticipate there will be to the site, and how much data needs to be transferred you can get a good idea just how much data transfer you will require for the long haul.

Another important issue for you to consider is just how many email accounts you feel you will need. By separating the emails from sales to basic order filling, employees, and a private account you can then get a better feel on just how many you may require. It is always a good idea to have more than you really need, in the even of a problem with one or more of the email addresses. The truth of the matter is that any web-based company that does not have an email account is not really a web-based business. Many companies these days are not web based and they still have multiple email accounts to ensure that everything runs, as it should. What you need to ask yourself, is just how important is the web siting to the business that you are trying to run? In most cases these days, without a valid email address a company will fall apart relatively quickly. Many companies these days look at the email account a very good method of exposure and visibility from someone else. This in turn will give them an edge very quickly over a company of the same cloth that does not have one. The more you actually apply to your business, the more it will produce in terms of sales. This is why an email account or several is clearly a good method of business practice.

The plan for multiple web hosting can run in many different fashions, it can be a monthly fee or a one-time fee. There are many different plans as well, these can include just the single domains or a plan called the alternate domain, and this is where many domains are handled as one. This is where there is a sub directory developed by the client, and all domain traffic that is secondary is pointed to the first domain for its initial information.
